Julia has made a career out of finding the magic in every melody.
A Houston native, Julia Kay received her BFA in Operatic Vocal Performance from California Institute of the Arts. She did graduate work at The Manhattan School of Music, and worked with Buck Ross in opera performances at The University of Houston.
In Texas, she has performed at HGO, TUTS, Stages Theatre, Main Street Theater, AD Players, Texas Repertory Theatre, Opera in the Heights, Lonestar Lyric, and San Antonio Opera. She toured the country starring in an original musical-comedy she wrote with Patti Rabaza, and has performed internationally, including a tour of Italy.
Currently, she sings locally in concerts, seasonal productions, and variety-show performances at retirement homes. She is also a sought-after voice coach for children and adults, and having mastered vocal styles from Grand Opera and Broadway to country, rock and jazz standards, she delights in helping others bring their own magic to any melody.
Julia is available for private performances and commissions.
